Refer a Client
When you refer a client to The Doula Cooperative, our Doula Services Coordinator gathers information from the client in order to match them with an available doula. Matching may be based on language, culture, and other unique care needs.
The TDC Doula contacts your client, answers questions, and discusses the role of the doula, and if the client agrees to sign up for doula services, the prenatal support visits are then scheduled. Ideally, a client connects with us by 30 weeks to allow time for the prenatal visits, as this preparation is highly beneficial to the overall outcome. We do our best to accommodate referrals no matter when the contact is made.
The Doula is “on call” two weeks before and after the estimated due date, unless circumstances call for earlier on call availability. All clients also have a back-up doula should the primary doula be at another birth or be unavailable due to illness or emergency. The Doula begins care once early labor is well established and is present with the client no later than active labor. They stay for up to two hours after the birth. Families receive two or more in-home postpartum visits, beginning in the first week.

About Our Doula Care Team
The Doula Cooperative provides referrals only to members of our Doula Care Team, called Associates. Associates sign a contract with us to abide by TDC’s THW Standards of Professional Conduct plus our Code of Ethics:
Standards of Professional Conduct and Code of Ethics
Our doulas are required to attend Community of Practice meetings regularly where we offer mutual support, continuing education, networking, feedback, practice updates, and peer review. This promotes mental and physical well-being in a challenging field and facilitates a high level of professionalism. Our Doula Services Coordinator also provides ongoing support and mentoring to individual Doula Care Team Associates.
If you have questions or concerns about the services provided by our doulas, please contact our Doula Services Coordinator at Tracy@thedoulacooperativeso.org or 541-326-7939
You may also complete a Complaint Form with OHA regarding any THW Doula in the Community.
Continuing Education
The Doula Cooperative offers Continuing Education opportunities for our doulas and allied maternity care providers in our community. We will send out notices when these are available and they will be listed on our Event Calendar as well.
